TREC-STEP is
relentlessly identifying, nurturing and delivering innovation with the support of Department of Scientific and Industrial Research’s (DSIR) Technopreneurship Promotion Programme (TePP) in the region. DSIR TePP is a novel nation wide initiative providing financial support to develop the innovative ideas of the citizens of India. TREC-STEP has helped 26 innovators to get financial support from DSIR to the tune of Rs. 29.9 million. From these innovators, so far 10 successful start-up companies have been incubated at TREC-STEP and many more innovative venture ideas are in pre-incubation stage, emerging from
TePP
initiative. |

About DSIR TEPP |
|
The Ministry of Science and Technology launched this novel programme
"Technopreneur Promotion Programme (TePP)" operated by
the Department of Scientific and Industrial Research (DSIR) to tap the vast innovative potential of the citizens of India. Under the Technopreneur Promotion Programme (TePP) Phase I, grant assistance to grassroot innovators to the extent of Rs. 1.5 million per project, is provided for Research and Development, fabrication of prototypes, testing and trials and patenting support. Under Phase II, for commercialization, Rs. 4.5 million is provided for venture development of innovation.
